Juneteenth: My Story of Freedom and Access
In celebration of Juneteenth, Colorwave champions the dual themes of Freedom and Access by highlighting the importance of choice in career paths and the ability to generate wealth without restrictions.
My experience with Colorwave's community & curriculum was extremely eye-opening. It provided relevant culturally-affirming guidance and co-empowerment within the current tech innovation ecosystem that I didn't realize that I very much needed.
Being part of Colorwave in a cohort model led to greater access to like-souled and like-minded emerging tech leaders of color from across the U.S. such as myself. For example, I was able to apply and get accepted with a scholarship to a prestigious, hybrid tech mentoring program in Chicago, IL called "The Ladder" at Chicago Innovation. Everything I learned during my time at #CW5 I used during my tech mentoring program. It helped me so much that I was invited to be part of the inaugural Associate Board of Directors at Chicago Innovation starting June 2024.
Being an alum of Colorwave, it's helped me realize that I want to co-build generational wealth for my Afro-Latino family and my Latinx community now and not later in my career. Therefore in Feb 2024, I jumped and restarted my tech entrepreneurial journey in Chicago, IL as the Founder of an AI/HI-powered, economic mobility platform called the "Pa'game Project" which seeks to disrupt the Latina wage gap in the U.S. and globally.
